Strategic Planning

Using a proven methodology (described below), we help you articulate your vision for your business, define the pathway, create financial and operational milestones and onboard your team. It’s the basis of all we do.

Business Partnering

We stay alongside you. As an embedded partner, not an outside adviser, supporting your progress. We can attend team, leadership or board meetings, run business reviews or projects and join partner or client engagements.

Strategic Referral

Where specific capability is needed (a fractional accountant, a sales trainer, a marketing advisor) we introduce the right operator from our network. People who have done the job, not studied it.

Strategic Planning Methodology

1. Research & Understanding

Before we meet you, we’ll have a good understanding of your business, but there is a lot we won’t know without your help.

This initial collaboration is key to our future success. We’ll start by having a conversation, starting at the very beginning (as why you’re building and not an employee is a key element of your ambition).

We’ll then use established frameworks and bespoke tools to elucidate and document your vision and purpose, your target market(s) and ideal customers. Then we’ll look at what sets you apart; both product differentiation and your internal ‘superpowers’.

Finally we’ll review current progress towards your defined goals and the blockers (both current and on the horizon). This can be purely commercial or it can incorporate costs, funding status and runway.

2. Planning & Prioritisation

When direction and business status are clearly articulated they becomes something you can use; to guide your team, evaluate an opportunity, or say no to distractions with confidence.

The second phase is a little more hands off for you. We’ll take around a week to summarise our findings in a formal document, build out a success map and a growth model based on the information you’ve shared, industry data and our own insights. We will then present it back to you and iterate where necessary.

The success map will unearth the levers available to influence performance.

We’ll also collaborate on strategic initiatives to support the growth model, aligned to the blockers that we’ve uncovered in the discovery process.

3. Operational Alignment

The critical third piece of the puzzle; your team. We help you onboard all members of your organisation and explain the process and outcomes. We’ll then help you prioritise (and deprioritise) activities, lock in performance metrics and a process to keep things on track.

We’ll identify the investments already in place and create a plan to retain, reinforce or redistribute.
